While some of you were up north with Timi, or preparing for Texas, I was at Portland Expo this weekend. On a very tight budget, and alone! I had to carry all my own stuff, Blogland. Hmphhh. Fortunately(??) I couldn't buy every single thing I saw that I loved, so I managed. My husband is still in disbelief that not a single chair or paint-by-number (there were some pretty cool examples, too!) was hidden in the van. I am mad for this incredible plastic bird that I snatched up in the first isle I ventured down. It's probably a store display piece. I won't be keeping it here, but needed some light for the photo. It's standing on a great painted pedestal that I purchased from Kathleen at Faded Charm! She is delightful, and her charm is anything but faded! She had the most amazing architectural pieces, and a too. die. for. blue trunk in her lovely booth. The landscape below was hers too. Just the kind and colors that I gravitate toward. Sidenote: Her lovely daughter was trying to eat lunch as I interrogated her about her school experiences. Sorry. I get a lit-tle carried away sometimes. Like if I'm around people, and/or in public. I have friends who can verify this.... Natalie of Sparrow wandered in, and I had such a great time, visiting with these two talented women!

Oh it sounds like you had a great time! I really wanted to get over there, but there was no time for that this weekend....love the pelican!?
Shellagh
So glad to have met you this weekend and also thanks for mentioning me in your post. I guess I hadn't signed up as a follower yet, so added my name today. I really enjoyed chatting with you and so glad you are happy with your goodies.
Take care,
Kathleen
I have a smaller plastic one sort of like yours - I think it was originally for a baby shower table display. Gotta' love the big birds! I missed Expo this time, just wasn't in the cards but, maybe the summer one will find me peaking under the tables looking for that unfound treasure.
I'm having a birthday give away on my blog and have a little bear that needs a good home ...maybe yours?
Love the bird. Wish I had made it to Expo or up north with Timi!! Just wasn't in the cards.
Glad you had fun,
Annette
